Like many HR professionals, René Hatfield, SPHR, SHRM CP, didn’t intentionally pursue a career in HR. However, she has come to believe that people are led into the profession.

With a natural talent to connect things, René knows that HR is all about making meaningful connections.

There was a time in her life where basketball was all that mattered. It taught her about teamwork, tenacity and sacrifice. René loved the competition and appreciated getting results from her efforts.

When that chapter ended, she started her career journey through customer service roles. These opportunities helped Rene to learn patience, empathy and problem solving.

René’s first love in HR was compliance and employment law. She was fascinated to learn about the laws that protected the rights of her fellow citizens and wanted to learn all she could to support the business through a lawful and fair employee experience.

As she started down the path of Human Resources, René found herself pulling from the talents she’d built in her early adult life. She was becoming successful because she knew the importance of working collaboratively with teams. She was true to her word and honored her commitments. She was able to sacrifice short-term wants for long-term opportunities. She understood how to work effectively with people and empathize with their point of view. She brought value by being able to solve problems.

Now, with several years of tactical and strategic experience, René creates value for her clients through her proven ability to execute with meaningful results. People are at the core of the value René provides as an HR leader and consultant.
